Why I Created Right-Sized Living
When my husband and I decided it was time to move into our empty nester home, I wasn't worried.
After all, I'd been helping women declutter for years. I had been sorting through our own home right alongside them, and I truly believed I was ready.
I was confident we'd be able to make the move without too much stress.
Then moving day arrived and as the movers began loading the truck, it became painfully obvious that we had a problem.
We simply had too much stuff. More than the moving truck could hold, and definitely more than our new home had room for.
Standing there, watching….I made a quick decision.
"We'll just put the extra things into a storage unit for now and deal with it later."

It seemed like the perfect solution.
Except it wasn't.
What I thought would be one storage unit quickly became two.
Then three.
For the next eighteen months, I paid rent every single month for three storage units filled with things I was certain I couldn't live without.
But something unexpected happened.
Very few of those things ever made their way into our new home. In fact, most of them stayed exactly where they were because it turned out we weren't using them at all.
That's when it hit me.
I hadn't been holding onto those things because they still supported the life I was living.
I had been holding onto them because they supported the life I used to live.
And those are two very different things.
That's when I I stopped asking,
"How can I fit more into my home?"
And started asking,
"Does this still fit the life I'm living today?"
That one question became the foundation for what is now the Right-Sized Living Method.
Today, I still believe decluttering is important.
But I also believe the real goal is much bigger than owning less.
It's creating a home that fits who you are today.
Because that's what I discovered after eighteen months, three storage units, and thousands of dollars spent holding onto things I thought I needed.
Some of the things in those storage units came home with me.
Most of them didn't.
And the best part is…..I don't miss them.
Because what I have now is something far more valuable.
A home that's easier to manage, easier to enjoy, and a better fit for the life my husband and I are living today.
If my story has taught me anything, it's this:
Sometimes the greatest freedom comes from letting your home change right along with you.
I'm so glad you're here, and I hope the Right-Sized Living Method helps you create a home that fits this next chapter of your life.
Cheering you on,
💛 Tracy Lynn
